 Inspiration for this tune :

Pipe Major Ian Matheson joined The Hawthorn City Pipe band in 1941 as drummer. He later turned his considerable musical talents to Piping and in 1949 was appointed Pipe major at the age of 19 years. He held this position till 1966 when ill health forced his retirement. He was made a life member of the Hawthorn City Pipe Band in 1966.  He was a piping judge for the Victorian Highland Pipe Band Association and over a lifetime many a piper has been grateful for his assistance.
